Proposal for high-quality development of polyester filament industry
December 17, 2024
This year's Central Economic Work Conference proposed that five pairs of relationships must be well coordinated - the relationship between aggregate supply and aggregate demand must be well coordinated to smooth the national economic cycle; We must balance the relationship between the cultivation of new driving forces and the renewal of old ones, and develop new quality productive forces according to local conditions; We must make a good overall plan to optimize the relationship between increment and inventory, and comprehensively improve the efficiency of resource allocation; We must balance the relationship between improving quality and increasing the total amount, and consolidate the material foundation of Chinese style modernization.
China's chemical fiber production accounts for more than 70% of the world's total. As an important part of the chemical fiber industry, polyester filament production accounts for nearly two-thirds of the chemical fiber production. Behind the rapid development of the industry, a series of problems have gradually emerged, especially the structural overcapacity, increased supply and demand mismatch risk, low price competition, etc. These are not only detrimental to the long-term interests of enterprises, but also to the high-quality and sustainable development of the entire industry.
Based on the spirit of the Central Economic Work Conference and the actual development of polyester filament industry, we propose:
1、 Firm confidence and follow the trend
At present, the development situation faced by China's textile industry is still complex and severe on the whole, but the development resilience accumulated from years of transformation and upgrading of the industry is fully manifested. For problems such as insufficient power for expansion of fiber consumption demand, we should not only maintain strategic concentration and firm confidence in development, but also actively respond to the situation.
2、 Win win cooperation and coordinated development
It is suggested that all member enterprises should set up an overall view and long-term vision, adhere to the concept of win-win cooperation, strengthen exchanges and cooperation, share resources and overcome difficulties. Through collaborative research and development, market expansion, brand building and other ways, we will work together to meet challenges, jointly enhance the overall competitiveness of the industry, share development opportunities, and achieve mutual benefit and win-win results.
3、 Prudent investment and reasonable growth
It is suggested that the investment projects of enterprises should focus on the upgrading and transformation of existing production capacity. For new production capacity projects, full consideration should be given to resource endowments, market capacity, environmental capacity and industrial foundation to avoid blind investment and low-level repeated construction; It is necessary to invest rationally and develop in an orderly manner. The new production capacity should be reasonably scheduled and implemented in stages, with the same frequency as the latest technology.
4、 Independent innovation to enhance core competitiveness
The polyester filament market is a fully competitive market, which needs to improve the competitiveness of enterprises from technology, products, brands, talents and other aspects. The growth of the scale of simple production can not create huge profits for enterprises, but may also make the industry fall into a passive situation of vicious competition. It is suggested that enterprises should actively promote the upgrading and transformation of technical equipment in the industry, actively explore new technologies, new processes and new models, constantly improve the technical content of products, increase product functionality and added value, and lead and create demand with high-quality supply.
5、 Hold the bottom line and prevent "involute" vicious competition
It is suggested that enterprises should rationally face market fluctuations, maintain strategic concentration and strengthen industry self-discipline. We oppose any form of price suppression and dumping, resist vicious competition, propose to jointly create a fair and stable market environment, reasonably regulate supply and demand, trust and self-discipline, ensure the long-term interests of consumers, and promote the sustainable development of the industry.
6、 Be brave to take on responsibilities and give play to the leading role of leading enterprises
It is suggested that leading enterprises should be brave in taking on responsibilities, actively play a leading role, strictly abide by industry norms, operate in good faith, resolutely resist malicious competition and dumping at low prices, and jointly maintain good market order and industry ecology; Make full use of its own technology, capital and market advantages to promote the localization process of domestic equipment, oil agent additives, new catalysts, etc., and contribute to the high-quality and sustainable development of the industry.
7、 Enhance resilience and promote high-quality development of the industry
In the face of the complex international situation and the medium - and long-term low-speed growth market environment, it is suggested that industry enterprises should always focus on improving core competitiveness and international voice, continue to cultivate and develop new quality productivity, continue to promote the application of advanced manufacturing technology (digital, intelligent, green), improve total factor productivity, and promote high-quality development; At the same time, we will build a safe, stable and efficient international supply chain system in combination with the actual situation of industry enterprises, and orderly carry out international layout.
