How To Reduce Fabric Shrinkage During Sewing Process

Crinkled Fabric

In the process of sewing, wrinkles or crumple often occur, especially in the lower layer of cloth, if not careful, often a line of cars to the last, the original length of the two pieces of cloth, actually turned a lot shorter below. This phenomenon occurs especially in the process of stitching fine cloth, finishing fabric and thinner and non stretchable cloth.

The reason why wrinkling occurs is that when the direction of sewing is parallel to the direction of the fabric, the embedded thread will force the warp to be in place, because every stitch will push the warp away, and the deviation caused by the accumulation of multiple needles will shrink along the seam of the joint so as to induce wrinkle. When the direction of sewing is parallel to the weft direction of these fabrics, it usually wrinkles less. According to experience, the diagonal joints in diagonal corners will not wrinkle. Most cloth will be enough to avoid wrinkling if the joints are at the angle of 15 degrees in longitude or latitude. Therefore, the oblique cutting operation can be considered. If necessary, smoothing agent can be applied to cloth.

In addition, fine needles should be used as far as possible. Because fine needle can obviously reduce the resistance generated when passing through the cloth, it has the effect of preventing wrinkle and wrinkle. At the same time, we should pay attention to changing new needles frequently.

When using the synthetic sewing thread, the tension of the suture must be carefully determined and the tension should be adjusted to a minimum. The bottom line tension must be adjusted to: when the end of the seam moves freely, the bottom spindle spindle and the outer sleeve slowly slide down, and the tension between the surface line and the bottom line must be consistent, so that they interweave exactly between the two layers of cloth. The tension of the sewing thread is too large. It will shrink automatically to ease the tension. This phenomenon will shrink the cloth along the joint and wrinkle the joint.
